Alex Smith was born in the UK to a middle-class family. Living in the countryside, he was extremely competent at bushcraft and survival skills. Often, he would prefer being out in the woods to spending his time sitting in a dull, borning classroom. This showed in his grades, and its no surprise he didn't do well at school. Alex wanted more out of life, so as soon as he left school at 16, he joined the British Army.
Alex was a natural soldier, he breezed through training and after 2 years of service he had reached the rank of corporal. Alex decided he wanted to work in the Royal Military Police’s close protection unit, where he would protect high ranking British officers, VIPs and government officials. It was that decision that would take him to Chernarus.
Alex was aboard the Costa Risacca cruise ship, providing discreet protection to a British government minister on vacation when it struck a massive rock formation. Unable to locate the minister he was assigned to protect, Alex managed to get himself to a lifeboat and evacuate the ship.
When Alex woke up, he found himself on a beach with no food, water or other equipment. He got out of the lifeboat and wandered down the road, to the eerily quiet town on the horizon...
