Phineas Locke, called simply "Locke" by all whom he meets, was once a family man and a devoted agent to his home country the United States of America. Recruited to the CIA right after college, Locke displayed a natural skill at prying information from others. This natural talent along with his predisposition towards always "doing the right thing" led to his rapid advancement within "The Company".
By his mid-thirties Locke had met the love of his life and together they started working on a little family. Although not always around due to the nature of his work Locke still managed to be a part of his wife and now daughters life for many years. By the time his daughter was about 14, Events in the country Chernarus had started to escalate. The Company needed an experienced agent over there to help manage the multiple and conflicting assets that were pouring in day after day. And Locke was just their man.
The overseas posting was for 4 years, and if it wasn't for the "danger pay" coupled with the fact that he would be back in time to see his daughter off to college, Locke's wife would have never agreed. Eager to defend his country and protect the people of the world Locke shipped off to Chernarus, where the stresses of home took backseat to the turmoil and eventual horror he would soon encounter.
Just a year before his posting was set to be over is when the world as we know it ended. In 2017 as tensions rose in Chernarus Locke was struggling to stay afloat amidst all the chaos. Keeping his agents safe and verifying information that was pouring in from their sources was like working 2 full time jobs. And his valiant efforts to try and bail out a sinking ship with but a spoon proved to be for naught. Faster than anyone could have imagined society seemed to fall apart and with it the modern accoutrements we often take for granted. Communication cut off and transportation systems down, Locke has been stuck in Chernarus since. Never sticking anywhere too long he does what good he can before moving on. Gnawed at by an insidious guilt, Locke cant help but hate Lady Fate and her cruelty, for in trying to best provide for his family he has inadvertently abandoned them at perhaps the worst time in human history.
Locke now spends his days wandering the shoreline in a daze hoping to spot a ship at sea or a plane in flight, perhaps carrying news towards the fate of his family.
If only he could hear their voices one last time.
