Jamal grew up in the Democratic Republic of Congo. His family were, poor, he grew up in Poverty. While the country was known as Zaire, his mother and father were both taken by local warlords, and killed, along with most of his village. He and the children of this village were taken by the Warlords and forced to become soldiers for his unit. He and the children were abused, tortured, and beaten to follow the ways of the Commandant, psychologically abused to the point where all the children were brain washed.
He stayed loyal to his Commandant, and they fought in both the First, and Second Congo War. Once these wars were finished, the Commandant decided that he would help his old friend called Awimba in Libera, and sent him some of his finest men, including Jamal. Awimba was a blood diamond smuggler and Jamal helped him smuggle these blood diamonds into South Zagoria.
