Born and raised on a small farm in rural Nova Scotia, Alan has always had a passion for the outdoors, and horticulture. Hunting, fishing, and getting by in the woods were always things he was proud of ever since he was taught. After graduating, Alan enlisted in the Canadian military where he would attain his medical training as a field medic. Before deployment, Alan began to have a 'misunderstanding' between himself and fellow unit members, and before things could escalate, he decided he would quit to pursue a life of providing medical relief for areas struck by natural and man-made disasters alike. This is how Alan found himself caught up in the Civil war, and eventually the outbreak. He had been assigned to escort and provide aid to civilians as they made their way south towards Elektrozavodsk and then ultimately Chernogorsk where Alan's organized service had eventually dissolved. From there on out, scarred by witnessing such scenes of violence and terror during the riots/exodus of cherno, Alan does his best to use his medical knowledge to provide aid to whoever he can. Though due to Post traumatic stress and improper socialization in recent years, Alan has become very weary of large groups.
Alan is a devout pacifist, and refuses to harm or kill any other living human, no matter what. He just can't let himself do that. Not since the riots. Not ever again.
