Alfie was born in a city called Birmingham in the middle of the UK into a fairly lower-middle class family. Going into private education at an early age and then moving to university at the age of 18, he had a fairly uneventful education and childhood. He was well cared for and had both parents around.
After university he signed up to the Royal Navy at the age of 21. He attended Dartmouth the following year and passed out approximately 30 weeks later.
The majority of his life was spent moving from posting to posting as required by the service. Greece, Gibraltar, Oman, Australia, the list goes on and on.
Progressing through the ranks as a Weapons Engineering Officer, he finally reached the rank of Lieutenant Commander, where he worked as a head of department for a Type 23 Frigate, attached as part of a naval task group sent to observe events unfolding in Chernarus. After heavy seas the ship ran aground, and the majority of the crew abandoned ship to make their way on foot.
