Background

Death.

Anyone in the military is aware that this is a normal occurrence. It's natural, it's fulfilled, it's manipulated. Humans have a few certainties in life and death is the first and foremost.

Thomas Lee Everett grew up in Burns Oregon, on a quiet ranch mostly dedicated to farming cattle. He grew up with his brother Brandon, his sister Cynthia, his mother Henrietta, his father Patrick, and his grandfather Cedric. Together they lived fairly close, with his father teaching him manhood and hunting and his mother teaching him to be humble and caring, but one of the most misunderstood traits is the one that his grandfather gave him, wisdom.

Being able to pick and choose your fights is one way to insure your survival, but being able to understand that blind obedience is the mark of the fool is the key to success. Everyone has altered motives, be it to better themselves or their reputation in others eyes.

His grandfathers wisdom came to aid when Brandon died of a seizure due to hitting his head on a rock some years back. There was nothing he could do, and even though he was close to his brother he needed to continue for his family.

His family died young. They soon passed away starting with his grandfather. His mother died in a car crash when he was 14. It was just him, his sister, and his father for a harsh 4 years of poverty, having to give up the ranch.

He joined into the Marines after his 18th birthday as it was Brandon's aspiration in life. His father committed suicide soon after Cynthia left the house to become a nurse, as he seemed to have believed he failed his family and was the reason for Brandon's untimely death.

Thomas was upset with the news but continued in his families legacy, as he believed his family was still destined to have a great name. He wanted to let his brother see him succeed in the ways he otherwise would have had his head not hit that rock. He was in the Marines for 5 deployments and finally he went through MARSOC training and became a MARSOC raider.

After being honorably discharged at the age of 30 and rank of Staff Sergeant he attempted to work as a civilian engineer for 4 additional years, but the call to battle soon got him once more when he was reached out to by a big Pharmaceutical company named KelliAir, of which were responding to the sudden outbreak of the infection in Chernarus by establishing out of the way science facilities based in the remote regions of Canada and Mexico, to join Blackwater and defend these compounds.

These compounds were like small cities. They were huge, but above they looked as if they were just regular log cabins. Everything was built underground.

Thomas and a other Blackwater agents were sent to Chernarus to try and determine the cause of the outbreak and, if possible, obtain a sample of the substance. If not they were to retrieve whatever info they could, however they could.

However Thomas will not follow blindly. He will try and be successful at his mission, however his families legacy is what is at stake here. He will carry on and create a new legacy for the Everetts.

Ok bro, so please look at a wiki before you do this. This is embarrassing and infuriating to the military community. Do ANY research and you will have a better character than this. This just looks like someone puked and called it a character. Also please look at the lore - this happened in a matter of days not months as you seem to think "about the growing virus over there". It looks like you barely read the lore. Again look up military stuff or even just go on the forums and ask for anyone who is in X branch. Shit even I will help you out if you want. Just please don't go making stuff up like this.

It's actually a misinterpretation on my part. I was up for quite a few days when I wrote this so I'm sorry.

I was originally attempting to RP a character who was sent to Chernarus after the virus started to successfully extract leaders of separate factions that started arising within Chernarus (as it would be impossible to extract all people). I understand where the misinterpretation came from though, and I'll do my due diligence by reading up on the server wiki and official canon before go to the editing stage.

So yeah, according to the server confirmed lore there were 2 waves originally sent within the first 2 weeks, and the infection was spread globally. Essentially, I have to rewrite some backstory to either set me in Chernarus during the 1st NATO wave or add in a secretive 3rd wave that was intended for extraction to a safe, remote region within or near North America. It's not far fetched to believe that some militaries are surviving post-apocalypse, and it's not far fetched to believe that sending a small third wave a year after the apocalypse started to the origin of the infection to extract any leaders who may have knowledge of how the infection started or at least where it started.

Overall I'm probably going to write in that a small division of very low profile top scientists, generals, and other operatives were given a few groups of spec ops teams by the US government to establish a safe haven somewhere around NA and establish a lab to attempt to make a cure. This would clear any inconsistencies that my backstory has with the lore.

Alright added quite a bit and I think it's fair to say it's more lore friendly as is. Again, apologies if it offends, if you explicitly reply with what is offensive I'll fix it, but until then this is fine as is for now until Thomas' story develops.
