Background

Adalyn “Addy” Meeks; From that of a perfect life, to one of a perilous, her failure was soon to come as the downfall of life began on July 7th, 2017.

The woman seemingly had a well-developed setup for herself; An aspirant to a suitable career that’d be larger than life, for herself, at least. She had that of a simple life, obtaining full education, especially at her ripe age of 25. Her motives were clear throughout her life as a pupil, though the procrastination that flooded through her was inevitably her foe. Adalyn was one that found herself almost constantly buried in work while in middle school, giving her no time to truly interact, or even get to know anyone. She soon worked her way out of that ‘phase’.Her prime was in high school, where she found herself branching out, aiming to seek out who she was. Her interests grew, and consisted of more than just simple schoolwork in this time.

Adalyn began to go to Improv Acting clubs, and that soon birthed her interest into the film world. Improv acting seemed as almost an escape to her from real life, and it was something she truly cherished- though once she began to invest in film-making, it was practically game over for everyone around her. The people she grew to know, her family..They all watched in wonder as she was quick to grow, Adalyn’s creativity bursting as she’d express it through an object as simple as a camera. For her 16th birthday, her parents found themselves sworn into her pride; they’d purchased her a camera. At that point, it seemed as the lens was a new set of eyes for her- she now had the freedom to do as she pleased, taking that wherever she’d go- and that scored her opportunities. As film festivals came and went, so did money and scholarships. This granted her full tuition into college, and it stuck with her. By the time she was 22, She’d have already graduated from the University Of Central Florida with a Bachelor’s degree in Film And Video making. Her degree led to her sealing opportunity into the real world. She found herself taking risks, flying to other countries to take part in on-set internships. Her current job was set in Chernarus, her first larger role as a producer; one of the youngest ones, at that. She’d work alongside an up and coming director, John Sylvester, and their bond would soon grow strong. The documentary the duo would be developing was based upon the 2009 blood-bath between the Soviets and Chernorussians, currently there in the month of June of 2017. She went about Chernarus’ lands, gathering information and intel from the residents to relay back to the company she worked for. She had worked in Severograd and moved south east to Berezino, meeting many residents of the rich farmland and rural towns. A couple weeks passed, and she found herself deciding to stay in the town of Berezino, Capturing gorgeous photos of the sea from the sands of the intricate beaches.

Though her time in Berezino was limited, she soon found herself returning to Severograd after gathering her personal, and work-related information. Returning before the actions of the military and the incoming global epidemic, she returned to her studio with her boss, Ian Sylvester, and continued her work pertaining to the documentary. Though while she was within her studio, on the day of the seventh of July the military’s actions came into view by her. Now residing within a city overpopulated with numerous people, John and her remained within their studio and only went out to check the streets. John himself sought to observe what was going on, and unknown to Adalyn - her counterpart would be attacked by the undead whilst doing this. During the chaotic day, Adalyn herself went to investigate, only to be greeted by a pestilent horde of infected which were ravaging the city and destroying it as if they were locusts to crops. Adalyn then came to think on an impulsive mind, chaos ensued around her yet she still had her vehicle in mind and that is what she resorted to. Rushing through the screams of agony and gunfire that was audible from all directions to soon escape the city. Eventually time would pass as the outbreak continued to spread globally, Chernarus became the opposite of what she had hoped for in the beginning of her trip there. Now on foot and several months into the outbreak, Adalyn looked for a way to endure this pestilence in hopes of seeing a better future due to nightly ‘foresight’ in her dreams. The only goal that remained before her now was to survive in this world, whether it be by hiding or stealing from the corpses of the dead. She did what she had to do to survive.
