Born in Louisiana, Ben Marshall grew up in a rural family with a long history of military service. He was keen on making sure that the legacy would continue and wanted to make a career in the military since the age of 4. At the age of 18, he joined the US Army and underwent selection for Delta Force at the age of 22.
Ben did three tours with the counter-terrorist 'Task Force 88', before being deployed in Colombia as part of Operation White-Widow. Ben was part of an elite unit of the U.S. Military, sent by the CIA, DEA, and JSOC, in order to attempt to put a stop to the cocain distribution in Colombia, and prevent them from spreading their influence, production, and distribution to other countries. Ben had seen the effects of drugs firsthand, as he came from a community that was overrun with oxycodone and other illicit substances. Many of his friends had died, or gone to prison due to drugs, and Ben also had a few bad experiences dealing with the drugs.
During his first few months operation in Colombia, all went well, but it all went down hill when he got a little to heated during a covert operation, which led to him being laid off from the opperation, and eventually kicked out of the US Army. No longer being in the army, Holt tended to get rowdy. He was known for drunkenly pushing a joke too far and getting into regular bar fights. He would do anything to get his adrenaline fix.
One year after being laid off and kicked from the army, Ben decided to move to Colombia, and use his military training and knowledge to start his own Mercenary Company called 'The Spectres'. He needed something that would fuel his addiction for adrenaline and action, while at the same time earning him some money. It wasn't long before one of the bigger cartels in Colombia took notice of Ben, and hired him and his mercenaries as head of protection and training. Ben spent 9 months working for the cartel, running security and training cartel members in various forms of combat.
After 9 month however, the cartel disbanded, and Ben decided to move his operations elsewhere. There was word of a country called 'Chernarus', that was recovering from a civil-war. He was expecting conflict to rise, as the tension in the country was still very high, and so he decided to relocate his operations to Chernarus. Their first year was quite, not a lot happened and Ben was questioning of moving to Chernarus was a mistake. But then, a miracle happened, or atleast that's what Ben thought. Conflict started happening in the region of South Zargoria, so Ben and his mercenaries moved to the South. Alas, the conflict was not the kind that Ben anticipated...
It has almost been 2 years since the outbreak happened, Ben is the only surviving member of 'The Spectres', but he has not lost hope. As these desperate times call for desperate measures, and a hired gun has never been higher in demand than it is now.
