My name is Atticus Chedister, and before the outbreak, I used to be part of the Red Cross. I helped people all around the world, going to all sorts different places and seeing all types of different communities that needed help from the Red Cross. I was happy to help ones that were sick, even if it was a dangerous disease or virus. Seeing people suffer is hard for me, and I will assist most people in their time of need. In 2009, when the Chernarus civil war had occurred, I had volunteered once again to help those that were in need. Bullet wounds and wounds caused from different types of debris were common, and I soon became experienced with dealing with these types of wounds. After the civil war had ended, I continued to go around the world with the Red Cross, continuing to assist people. When I was told that I could volunteer to return to Chernarus, I immediately did so. I had met many people during my time in Chernarus those years ago, and I wanted to see the people that I had helped again, and the ones that I had even become friends with. But this time, it was different. There had been no gunshot wounds or crushed limbs. The people had been sick, and deathly so. Some of my friends were infected with the virus, and there was nothing I could do to help them... but there was also nothing I could do to stop them from turning into mindless creatures. I had been in the hospital when they first started to turn into unfeeling monsters, bent on harming and killing. Though I regret my cowardice, I fled as soon as they began to attack the other workers, as I realized that this was worse than anything that I had encountered before. AIDS, Ebola... nothing else turned people into brainless killing machines. I fled from Severograd as the city began to fall into chaos, trying to make my way to safety. It had been cowardly and selfish, but I did it because I think that I would be able to help more people alive than dead.
Like most of the Chernarussians, I fled city to city, town to town as the infected had followed behind, helping people that needed it while also trying to survive myself.
