William "Bob" Barlow was born in Raven, Kentucky in 1964. He was the oldest of two siblings and was born into a family of dirt poor coal miners. His mother and father both worked at the mine in Raven. Having no wealth to speak of "Bob" figured that he would be working at the mine, like his father, Grandfather and all his relations that he could remember. "Bob's" parents instilled respect and humility into all of their children when growing up. "Bob" was a hand full, "Bob" was the child to push the teaching to the limit, he wanted adventure, to travel to meet exciting people to get out of this shit-hole.
"Bob" was always a very bright student in a small school being in the top 5 of his graduating class of 71 students, was not that big a deal, he also played Football and Baseball, an all American kid. When he graduated he was offered a scholarship at the University of Kentucky. It was hard convincing his family that this was all free and that he would return one day, but this was his chance to become something, to see something more than those back woods mining towns. "Bob" was ready for the big city. Collage life was fun, the parties, the girls, that drugs! "Bob" still felt something was missing, he needed to see the world, to experience different things. "Bob" graduated early and without telling his family went to the US Army recruiting center and signed up. He was gone in an instant, passed his physical and was on the bus within a day instead of going to Basic Military training he was taken to Officer Candidate school. Candidates who successfully complete the rigorous, 12-week school receive formal commissions as U.S. Army Officers and assume the ability to command Soldiers. "Bob Passed this training with flying colors and was sent to his first command,1st Squadron, 4th Armored Cavalry Regiment. During his military career "Bob" climbed the ranks very fast, his team orientated and get it done attitude was perfect for the military. "Bob's" units in combat received low losses and high kill rates, tackling many objectives that some felt couldn't. After his deployments Capt Barlow was moved to NATO, this was not without some issues. Capt Bartlow wanted to stay in the "shit" but he was starting to get older, and the higher ups felt he was starting to get to old to be in combat.
When the unexpected apocalypse came, "Bob" was one of the people selected to be under the command of Major Mike Goa of NATO. They were to be sent in order to help protect the World Health Organization doctors what would be researching a cure, as well as providing relief effort to displaced civilians in the region. The NATO forces arrived in July, and now more than a month later Capt "Bob" and whats left of his company are trying to establish an FOB and rebuild his company to accomplish the orders that he has received.
