Niko was born and raised in Volgograd, Russia in a hard-working Russian family. His father was a businessman and a retired Soviet Solider and his Mother was a nurse at a local hospital. Niko had a lot of different family members from his mothers and fathers sides. Both his parents were both born in Russia. Niko was a 17 year old in post-secondary and struggling in it around last high school year and gave up in his last year then dropout at 18. After weeks of arguments with his parents on what he would do with himself, his Father and Mother decided it would be a good idea to enlist Niko in the Russian Armed Forces. After a few days of Niko not thinking it would be a good idea because he won't get to see any of his friends anyone he thought that he could make a decent career out of it in the long run so he joined. Niko joined the Russian Armed Forces as light infantry at 19. When he was fresh out of training as a Private First Class he was the best shot in his unit and well trained with Western weapons as well and was posted to a base located in Moscow for advanced training. During his time in Moscow, he underwent a vigorous amount of training and strived to prove himself as well as gaining extremely valuable field experience. During his time at the base, there was talk about Russia going to invade the Ukraine and Niko was excited to finally get out and go do something.
Niko's actions and attitude at the base didn't go unnoticed so he was transferred and assigned to the seizure of the Crimean Peninsula in Ukraine. During his time in Ukraine, he was posted with his unit at the Ukraine Border during annexation of Crimea. After a few months of Niko being at the Ukrainian border and nothing interesting going on, there was a rumor going around about a virus outbreak going around the battalion which Niko took the wind of. Niko was then, a week or two later redeployed to a refugee camp in Chernarus, deeper in Ukraine were at the time he did not expect to have to treat others but he saw things no man, woman, or child should see. Cities crumbled, bodies piled and bullets everywhere. He was to defend the camp with a dozen of other Russian soldiers and Ukraine soldiers lives and he was sickened by how everything was being handled, it was a shit show. However, Niko made the best of it and still tried his best and tried to help all people he could. After a few days of being at the camp, it started to be flooded with people and the camp was running out of water and rations for not only the civilians but for the soldiers as well.
Not much knowledge is known about Niko's exact whereabouts every since his unit was redeployed back to Ukraine about a year after the outbreak got worst. Niko was assigned to participate in an undercover operation drawn up by the VSR and the Russian Federation leading him deeper and all around Chernarus. Not much is known about the Operation.
