Honey was one of those girl's whom didn't excell in any of her classes in school apart from languages. Funnily enough, she hadn't even passed English Literature.
She would always keep to herself. Face down in her books.
When the time came she faced the University College Dublin to extend her knowledge and earn her degree in Czech and Polish.
There were plenty of jobs within Ireland and United Kingdom for languages outside of Spanish, French and German. So this was a large opportunity for her.
Whilst attending University, Honey would proceed to look for jobs and on occasion, go out to the local bars for a relaxed night out or a little giggle at the karaoke participants.
That's where she met Harriot, a wild party boy who knew nothing of elegance when smashed out of his mind drunk. To Honey's amusement, it was her entertainment for the night. This didn't go unnoticed as the man ever so not-gracefully stumbled to her table and begin to talk.
It led to his friends leaving him for Honey to look after. One thing led to another and they started dating.
Harriot wanted to become a banker, he was studying at the same university as Honey.
Luckily their future careers matched perfectly, they both got the jobs they wanted. And they both worked under the same employer.
The job was an international banking system and insurance company that entailed people internationally could afford the best contracts. Because of this, Honey was hired to be a translator for conference calls and meetings.
Two years into the job, Harriot and Honey were finally married. They landed an opportunity to make a business partnership with a bank in Miroslavl, Chernarus. A company holiday, easy money, cheap alcohol and a place to check off of their bucket list of visiting the world. The plan was to stay for at least three weeks to maintain all contracts and deals were settled for each side of the Irish and Chernarussian banking.
Everything was going great for the banking partnership; contracts being signed and agreements were made with an open mind.
However, one night when Honey and Harriot got back to the hotel room she decided to flick on the television to update herself on the local area. This was during early July.
Honey's brows furrowed with a look of worry as translations she speculated seemed to be abnormal.
Harriot on the other hand could not translate but the worry on his wife's face then appeared on his own with the same gut curdling feeling too.
A few days later, the infection broke out...
They had a few contracts and deals to make however to Harriot and Honey's concern, they had to leave. For all they knew, it could've been another Ebola outbreak...
With that, they abandoned anymore deals left and booked the next flight back to Ireland.
Waiting in the departure for a flight, they were left uninformed of the next plane to come. They were left there for hours...
... almost 3 days later trapped in the departure lounge and people were now being affected by this illness.
Harriot and Honey tried to find solitude in the crowded airport but no luck.
From one day to the next, Harriot fell ill. Just like a majority of the airport.
He completely changed in himself and to his wife; showing a more aggressive impact.
Honey had to flee, knowing this was more that what she thought it was.
The airport was completely trashed.
Looking up to a half attached TV screen on the wall, pixels lava'd down the monitor and almost broken she could still make out the audio.
"There is an unknown virus causing people to become unstable and aggressive. Symptoms show signs of blood, aggression and loss of speech and ability to properly move.
Stay inside your homes until we come---"
The TV completely stopped working.
But that was enough knowledge for Honey to know that whatever took Harriot, may soon get her.
That was the last time Honey saw the airport and Harriot.
Before being left alone by herself, like when she was younger.
She didn’t know how to use a gun, gut animals or even give herself first aid. And at this rate, it made her feel completely useless.
