Marcel grew up close to the Takistan border with his family. He spent his childhood helping out around the farm with his younger brother, tending to the animals and helping his father in whatever he needed. Several Takistani tribes had settled in the areas around Voronovo and as such had caused a fair amount of conflict and distress to the locals in the area. The response from the local community was harsh, but very little was done.
However when one night Marcel's grandfather called the farmhouse in distress, Marcel grabbed his Father's makarov and his younger brother, Maxmillian. When they got to their grandfathers home, four Taki lads were shouting harassment at him through the windows and had just begun throwing stones and larger rocks. As Marcel and Maxmillian got close a rock penetrated one of the windows, shattering the thin glass plane. Marcel picked up a rock himself and smacked the closest Taki in the back of the head, dropping him instantly. All of the Takistani lads turned around quickly and began to charge him. Maxmillian tackled one down but the other two were still coming for him. The scrap took only a few minutes, Maxmillian and Marcel coming out with a few cuts and bruises. Maxmillian went inside to ensure their grandfather was okay. However as the Taki lads lay on the floor groaning and complaining, Marcel pulled the Makarov from his waistband and executed all of the young Takistani boys.
Marcel was conscripted into service shortly before the Takistan conflict and as such went to war in Takistan. He saw atrocities in Takistan that he could dream of. He came back on temporary leave for four weeks when he was hit by shrapnel in the shoulder. After a week of helping his father around the farmhouse he received the news of his younger brothers death. Whilst breaching a building he had been hit by an IED. His remains were never covered except his misshapen dog tags.
Marcel remained in conscripted service after the event, with a reborn hatred for Taki's.
