Background

Kryštof was born in Vasilyevskiy in the winter of '98. During his youth he spent a lot of time with his father Jáchym at the family's mechanic shop, learning his way around cars and developing a general passion for them. They developed a bond only a father and son could.

[...]

2009 came and his father was conscripted in the land forces to help crush the Order of the Red Star and thanks to his mechanical abilities he served as a vehicle technician. Jáchym would often take pictures of the army vehicles he worked on and sent them back home to his son, which he greatly enjoyed. "I want to be a soldier, just like dad!" were words that Evelína, Kryštof's mother, constantly heard from her son.

The day that changed Kryštof was the 10th of October, 2009. A CDF officer knocked on the family's door. The man brought dreadful news. The garrison where Jáchym was stationed was attacked by an overwhelming ChDKZ force - they stood no chance.  "They fought until the last bullet. Heroes, all of them" he said. How could that comfort Kryštof?

[...]

Kryštof finished a technical high school and became a mechanic apprentice. His goal was to reopen his family's shop - "for father", he kept saying.
