Akọni, full name Akọni Nzube Oluwakema, grew up on the harsh streets of Abeokuta, Nigeria. From a young age, Akọni had to fight his way out of sticky situations that he faced in his childhood with his brother. Akọni's father was imprisoned for murder wrongfully when he beheaded a man with a machete that was attempting to kidnap Adebowale (His Brother). Ever since the day his father was imprisoned wrongfully, Adebowale and Akọni have hated his government, they were defiant and aggressive throughout his whole childhood until he met a wise man on the streets of his home town that gave him a path in life. Adebowale spoke to this wise man for one hour each day at midday, he wanted to get something out of life and he believed this wise man could point him in the right direction. This man taught Adebowale and Akọni what his father couldn't, things such as social skills and how to interact with others he wasn't familiar with in a nonaggressive fashion. Adebowale and Akọni continued to visit this man every single day until one day he arrived outside their usual meeting spot and found the man not to be there, this was extraordinarily strange as the wise man was never late. Adebowale noticed a drop of blood on the floor leading to a small door that leads inside of a large sand-colored building so he decided to open the unlocked door, Adebowale saw the man that he had come to like so much dead on the floor, killed by men that attempted to rob him for a purse full of Naira, the Nigerian currency.
He started to smuggle guns across the ocean being part of the armed forces he got hold of them easily and sold them all
Akọni and Adebowale planned a seven day trip to the country where they would spend a few days travelling the different coastal towns before going to the prison to visit there father. They spent days visiting Elektrozavodsk, Chernogorsk, Balota town and Kamyrovo town, Akọni only packed 4 sets of his Armed Forces clothing to let the locals know that he was a Nigerian Armed Forces Soldier, Akọni was proud of his position in the ranks of the Armed Forces. The outbreak occurred the day Akọni arrived in Kamyrovo town and he was forced to run inland due to a blockage by a Police force in the town, he ran this path inland alone dodging infected along the way and eating food from clearly apparent freshly abandoned houses. It took Akọni and Adebowale a few days to, in Akọnis head, properly register what had happened with the infection and why there were undead creatures praying on living hosts to feed on, but Adebowale was prepared to do whatever it takes to keep himself safe and ultimately get onto the prison island to find and help there father.
