Jackie was born and raised in Kc, Mo. She was an only child that was shy and suffered to make a connection with people. Most of her time growing up was spent on reading books and novels. Her mother was a nurse for the hospital and her father was a construction worker. She grew a long distance friendship with Robin Olken from Cali. When she was 17 Robin suggested to sign up for this Political program for exchange students. Already taking college courses at UMKC for political science, Jackie signed up for it and when she graduated High School at the age of 18, she was accepted and sent off.
After arriving here, Jackie met up with her long lost pen pal friend Robin. But once they landed, they were told to stay at the airport for safety because they might need to get an immediate flight out back to the United States. After a week of chaos, some students decided to leave the airport realizing they'd never get the flight out. Jackie was going to join them, but got separated from them right at the last minute. Being scared, she chose to stay at the airport as long as she could. After only a few days, she decided to go looking for her friends. She found them in the woods outside the city and left with them. Jackie being the only one that really ever did any hunting out of the group, would set out on hunting trips for food while others would scavenge around the towns. Because of this, she often would be gone for days to a week or more at a time. Preserving what meat she could by building small fire houses to dehydrate the meat and turn it into jerky.
On the last hunting trip she'd take for the group, she got stuck and pinned down in a house by the screamers. She remained silent for the night hoping they would move on. After drinking what water she had, and eating the last bit of the jerky, she had no choice but to run as fast as she could for as long as she could. When she finally escaped the dead, she went back to the camp but only to find that something had happened. Blood everywhere, no one to be found. She was afraid and scared, but used to being alone. After thinking everyone was dead, she left out on her own packing what supplies were left.
Jackie's Journal -
- Today marks the 67th day of looking for anyone that might have survived from the camp. I've come across more people finally. I was given a car ride to some city called Zele. I met some nice people. Jessica was a medical professional and she was very kind to me. This guy named Sunny had me smiling again finally. I also met a woman called Mallory. We were laughing about the radio's and her jean jacket. I asked all of them if they'd met anyone named Robin but none of them had. I decided to scavenge for some canned food in the city and there she was. Just standing there on the other side of the gate. Robin was alive. Things are finally turning around after months of being on my own.
- I know I haven't written here in a while. Some weird things have been going on. We've decided to move. We've been hearing a lot of rumors about things and we need to keep ourselves safe. We decided to go north. I wasn't careful and my actions led us to needing a doctor. Turns out that it was a dislocated shoulder. Thankfully nothing to serious and now with Robin able to actually shoot a gun, she can help me with taking out the dead. I have no clue where to go, or even what to do. I really hope she's not depending on me to decide. All I know is we need to be safe and lay low for a bit until my shoulder is good enough again. Depending on her so soon for protection might put added stress onto her to shoot the gun, and she doesn't need that right now. Anyway's, doctor's order's to get rest.
