Deacon Decker was a Personal Protection Officer in the United States Marines Corps from 2012 to 2016, after serving as an infantryman from his enlistment at 2008 to 2012. After serving eight years, he was honorably discharged and immediately took up work as a Private Military Contractor, doing close personal protection for VIPs who hired him around the world. He earned his nickname, and later callsign "Saint" during a job in Paris, France. His client was charged by a knife-wielding attacker, screaming "Sinner!!" in French. Decker charged back at the assailant, tackling him and disarming him with haste, absorbing multiple blows in his anti-stab vest. For the rest of his deployment, his client referred to him as "The Saint". Decker was deployed on an operation in Chernarus protecting a local public figure, of which had strong ties to the local mafia, which Decker was completely unaware of. Decker was kidnapped by rival gangsters, who took him out into the rural countryside to torture him for information on his client. The Saint gave them nothing, and so they left him for dead. But not willing to give up that easy, Decker came to days later in the woods, and wandered to find civilization. However, what he found was far from it. Upon his return, Deacon was greeted by a world ravaged by chaos. Empty streets, crashed cars, blood on the pavement. This did not sway his determination to survive. He now roams Chernarus, helping those who need help, protection those who need protection, shooting those who need shooting.
