Jason Adams passion in life is teaching, specifically European History. Jason started teaching 10 years ago at a suburban high school outside Chicago, IL. He is very well liked by both his fellow teachers and students. Every year, Jason takes his AP European History class to Europe. 9 years in a row, Jason has helped create lasting memories for himself and his students. This year will be much different...

Jason was on a school trip with his class to Chernarus when the outbreak hit. Staying on the coastline, Jason and his students took shelter in a large ship that had beached. With food and water running low, Jason and his students started scavenging boats and beach side houses, making sure to stay away from the large cities. Eventually, one of Jason's students, Kristen, was bit by a zombie while looking for water. The group rushed her back to the ship with the medical supplies they scavenged. Desperately trying to save her life, the group worked hard in scavenging for more IV needles, blood bags, and saline kits. Kristen passed 6 hours later and the group had their first loss. While in mourning, Kristen sat up from the table she was on. Her friends rush to her side to witness the miracle, but Kristen didn't look right. She had blood in her eyes, pale skin, and her head was cocked to one side. "Kristen?" one of the kids asked. Within 2 hours, 22 of the 25 students had been turned. Jason and 3 of his students took off running inland. Finding shelter in an abandoned boarded up house, Jason sat by the fireplace keeping watch, wondering how he'll live with himself knowing those students trusted him to take care of them all and 22 of them were now walking the coastline ready to attack the next survivor who came passing through. As he sat there eating his 1/4 of the canned peaches they found, Jason heard a noise outside. Then lights. Torches. "We know you're in there, come on out and no one has to get hurt". Jason's stomach dropped, they were survivors, but they weren't there to help. The 3 students all woke up asking Jason what to do. A gunshot rings out. "We're either coming in or you're coming out". Jason tells the students to hide and opens the front door. "Greetings gentlemen, what can I help you with?" Jason said. "Give us the kids" said the bandits. The bandits all had ski masks on, wearing matching armbands. "There aren't any kids in here, just me by myself" Jason said. *Thud* the butt of the Bandit's shotgun was slammed into Jason's stomach. Jason collapsed to the ground, clutching his stomach, moaning. "Go on and get the kids, we need fresh blood for the war!" shouted the lead bandit. Jason stumbled to his feet. "Take me, let them be". The bandit leader replied "Mister, you're lucky we're even letting you live" *SLAM* Jason falls back, the bandit striking him in the face with the gun. Jason fought going unconscious as long as he could. The last words he heard were "We need to get you kids some better clothing, it's cold up North".

The next morning Jason woke up, blood on chin and cheek, his eye swollen shut. No food, no water, no tools. Jason got to his feet and in the horizon he saw a large crane and the tops of some skyscrapers. "I'm getting those kids back" Jason thought to himself as he slowly headed to the city.

I'm assuming you mean 9 years instead of 99. 🤔
