James lived a fairly standard life in America, James learnt how to live off the land and decided after all his failures in finding jobs that he would make a new life for himself. James came to Nyheim to find a secluded place in the wilds to make his living. James left with his wife at age 18 and made a peaceful start in the wild, however eventually death came and took his wife. A form of death that came with the undead. James is left to fight for himself in this new world and seclusion is his only friend now.
