"Lex!" Sarah screamed, as she came back into the house after a hunt. I could tell by the look on her face that something had gone awfully wrong. "We lost Richard!" she yells, while running into my arms. "He fought off the weirdos for us! He fired.." She stops for a brief moment as she sobs, making her words barely comprehensible. "He fired his pistol at a guy that was holding me down.. He saved me!" I grabbed her hands and was overcome with relief that she made it home. "What happened?" I asked, while I noticed the bandaged wound on her arm. "After Richard saved me, things went from bad.. to worse.. Before we knew it, the area was swarming with.. with these people.. lured in by the sound of Richard's pistol. He told us to head for the woods, and that he would hold them off.. But these people.. There was something wrong with them. their eyes looked weird.. almost as if they where.. dead. The last thing I remember is Richard being swarmed by these people while yelled at us to run" I held my wife firmly, with an intensity as if I would never let go again. "It's all my fault!" she cried. "He was a hero" I said, while she sobbed away..
(writing that took waaay too long so gonna keep it short from now on)
I asked Sarah about the wound on her arm. She told me that it was just a scratch but that she can't remember exactly how she got it. I had no reason to believe otherwise as it really didn't look that serious..
Sarah's condition is worsening.. she told me she didn't feel so good.. that was 2 days ago.. Marley, our 4 year old daughter is constantly by her side. She is really worried her mommy might take her final sleep.. Did her wound get infected? Did she eat something she wasn't supposed to?
Sarah has passed.. I am heart broken.. we need to give her a proper burial..
It's been over 4 months since the incident.. That horrible nightmare.. I finally feel like I have the resolve to document what happened on that day..
As I went outside the house to dig a final resting place for my darling wife. Marley was still crying next to Sarah's lifeless body.. I couldn't get myself to take her away from her mother, neither was I strong enough to comfort her. All I could do was dig.. dig as if I was digging an escape route out of this horrible reality..
Marley's crying stopped. I could hear screams coming from inside the house! I ran back as fast as my legs could carry me, but what I found was unbearably cruel..
My wife.. My Partner.. Sarah.. she was standing besides the bed. At her feet, the lifeless body of our 4 year old daughter.. I realized what had happened. rumors of actual zombies existing where floating about all over Chernarus. But I never believed any of it, until now.. Sarah looked at me with tears pouring down her cheeks. I felt a pain I had never felt before. It looked as if Sarah's soul was trapped inside her own body. no longer in control of her actions but still very aware.. It felt as if time had frozen over and I found myself unable to act..
Then I heard a faint sound coming from Marley's body. She was still alive! although a big part of her neck was missing, she was still breathing! I had to move fast.. I lifted my shovel above my head and I.. I.. well.. you can fill in the rest...
I picked up my daughter and ran outside yelling for help. But no one came.. My little girl died in my arms.. If the rumors where true, the same thing that happened to Sarah would happen to Marley as well. I did not want this for her.. So I.. I made sure it wouldn't...
I buried them together on Sarah's favorite hunting grounds, just North of our home in Novoselki. I made sure to include Marley's best friend and Sarah's favorite hunting rifle in their grave.
Now I roam these lands alone. freeing trapped souls from their bodies whenever I come across them..
