Born into foster care, Anya grew up in Miroslav’l and spent most of her childhood bouncing back and forth between residential children's homes and different foster families. These foster families struggled with her which often resulted in her being sent back to residential care until another family could be found to try and look after her.
Rebellious during her childhood and prone to sudden bursts of anger she never felt like she fit in amongst her peers. Dropping out of school without any grades she met Daniel Novak and through him fell into the world of drink, drugs and gangs. She made a living by moving drugs around the country for her Novak (being rewarded with a steady supply of drugs instead of money) as a part of his gangland drug empire. Her travels would take her all over the country and occasionally across the border into Russia.
Despite multiple run-ins with law enforcement she always managed to avoid a jail cell, often whilst others in her entourage were not as lucky.
In the weeks leading up to the outbreak, Anya remained in Miroslav'l whilst Daniel Novak traveled to Chernogorsk, South Zagoria for business. This was one of many trips Novak had previously embarked on and not the first time he had left Anya behind, she was used to the routine of having to endure the company of his lieutenants without his presence.
Once the outbreak steamrolled her country into a wasteland, she was left with loss and had to fight like everyone else in order to survive. After waiting several months for Novak to return, Anya left Miroslav'l and headed east with two of Daniels men, Artyom and Alexei, as escorts.
An unknown amount of time passed before a tough journey drew to a close as Anya arrived alone in Sinistok, South Zagoria. Only to set out on another difficult task. Search for Daniel Novak and search for a solution to her dwindling narcotic supplies.
