Before the outbreak:
Jack was your normal soldier, serving in the Luxembourg army. He went on a few peacekeeping missions on the name of NATO here and there and saw his fear share of battle. As Luxembourg is a fairly small country, it mainly focused on reconnaissance rather than head on battle. Jack was therefore sent multiple times to the Chernarus area to observe and report.
In a meeting with HQ Jack got informed about evacuations in the northern part of the country and the appearance of various checkpoints around the northern military facilities. A reconnaissance mission was immediately green lit by the commanders, so Jack and his crew made their way north.
The checkpoint however wouldn’t let the team pass, even though they were granted free movement through the country. Fearing to harm the political relationship of their countries Jack decided to let it be and set up camp in a nearby village.
On the morning of the 10th Jack woke to the sound of explosions; giant smoke clouds rose from the base’s location. Fearing a new war was breaking out Jack ordered his team to pack up and leave, when he got a call from HQ ordering them to stay in the village and observe … he obliged.
Reports of soldiers attacking livestock and patrols disappearing came in. On their way to the source of these claims the team could only watch as the city of Severograd got overrun by the infected. They watched in horror as they got as much intel as possible before heading for Cherno.
