Chris Winter

Born: April 23rd, 1983
In a dusty, dark, underground club in the heart of Carlisle, a movement was growing, and tides were changing. The formation of a new radical group was happening: The Communist Party of Great Britain. Among them was prominent trade unionist Chris Winters. An accomplished man with a wife and two children, however, no level of accomplishment or success could make him ignore the injustice in the world he saw growing up on the streets of London, serving in the army and working alongside political figures. In a sense, he stood as a trade unionist to help stop the unstoppable force of capitalism’s oppression but in another, this new party was finally a way to swing back. Let those less fortunate have a turn at the dinner table, no more scraps for the little people. One of the main reasons for Winter's political position was his time spent in Sierra Leone during the civil war of 1999 where he was deployed for peacekeeping reasons and extracting military and civilian personnel. What he was there was horrific, he was what happens when military and state force the will of the people, a once inspiring socialist rebel army turned to horrific tactics to ensure their victory. Suspected supporters were strung along the street like ragdolls by the native military still fighting the rebels. Once he returned from his service he vowed to never join the forces of an imperialist force again. No More Slaves, No More Masters: Power and Wealth to the People!

During his time as an elected member of the party, he oversaw the operation of underground vandalism schemes like spray paint murals and illegal demonstrations alongside more legal practices like education funds, advocating for peace and holding many peaceful protests to gain public opinion and support which was vital for their cause. However, the press only liked focusing on the negatives it would seem. After some of their less legal activities were exposed the government saw it as a way to crack down on the party before it became a serious problem to worry about. This would, unfortunately, force him to feel the country in early 2007 when the authorities were said to be looking into the parties activities. Upon arrival to the French customs, he soon realised he would have to go much further than simply Paris. Winter had to flee the European Union. His family ventured through Hungry, Ukraine and Russian all by doing whatever they could for people on the street to help them pay for bus tickets. One notable job he did for an elderly man was helping him to a church to see the man's deceased wife, for some reason it seemed to stand out from the rest of the jobs. After making his way across most of Europe he finally settled in Chernarus, near Severograd with his family.

It took some time to learn Cherarussian but Winter managed to get a job at his local garage using the skills he’d learnt before the armed forces. He lived a quite a quiet life for the first few months until the countries divide became gaping wide and political conflict began, a full-blown civil war. Though Winter never took up arms, he did, however, help supply the Chedaki troops with food, medicine and car parts. This was a fairly easy task due to being deep in Chedaki territory at the time. When the war was lost he help harbour and smuggle innocent soldiers out of the country, earning him a mythological status among some of the Chedaki loyalists, so he was told. After the war and the NAPA crackdown on communists and Chedaki supporters, Winter lived in relative peace for the next few years, eventually owning the garage he worked on after his boss retired, and even moving into the city of Severograd itself to help his daughters have a better opportunity in life. Though none that really mattered because no one could predict armageddon, the end of the world and civilisation as we know it. It's been 689 days since the outbreak and Chris Winters has just buried his last living family member. His daughter Eve.

- Mechanic: Before Winter's service in the military he was first a mechanic, helping give his wife and children a comfortable life while he worked. The skills the job gave him helped in his decision to join the military, seeing it as a way to get paid more while doing the same thing. Now in the wasteland, he uses his skills for basic survival. From fixing cars to repairing guns and generators.

- 1st Battalion, Parachute Regiment (1 Para): Winter was deployed in Sierra Leone, initially on a peacekeeping mission however it eventually turned into an evacuation mission for military and civilian personnel alike. When he has deployed it in 1999 he never foresaw being there for nearly 6 years. The carnage, bloodshed and brutality he witnessed there helped shape him as a person and inspired his socialist beliefs to this very day. Had he not enlisted in the armed forces he would never have seen through the imperialist lies.

- Politician: After returning from Sierra Leone with the images of barbarism scared into his mind, he found new hope and vigour to create change for that less fortunate and to stop people being the tools and pawns of their own destruction for the rich. Though his willingness for change was near unstoppable he could not outrun the law, his own ambitions forced him and his family into exile until the Chernaus civil war where he could once again help, supplying arms to the socialists, giving them shelter from the authorities after, and even smuggling a few across the Russian border. However, it all seems pointless in the face of armageddon.
