Tiger was a new member of a security team stationed on a cargo vessel the "MV Dragoneer" and his job was simple: protect the crew from pirates. This was Tiger's first job and he was nervous and excited. He especially liked it because one of the perks of the job was the freedom to wear normal clothing so he can blend in with the crew. Their vessel departed the Port of Houston on March 15 and set sail for Sochi, Russia. Tiger was excited to see the Black Sea. He heard how beautiful it was and also how cold Russia is. He was hoping to meet some locals and learn about Russian culture from an actual Russian. Maybe learn about the Sochi Winter Olympics and how that all went. Either way, this was going to be a grand adventure.
Travel across the Atlantic went by swimmingly. It was difficult at first to adjust the sea and walking. He did figure it out though. In July, they made it to the Canal of Istanbul in Turkey but just a few weeks prior, they lost radio communications when the radio just decided to stop working. Tiger's not an expert on radios. He just knows how to use his walkie-talkie. Tiger was on the deck looking out to the shore as they passed by what looked like a very empty canal. Even to a newbie like Tiger, this was very unusual. The crew seemed a bit concerned when they looked around and saw no Turkish naval ships or boats. All the cargo vessels had made berth and there were people walking around hunched over or limping. Some even fell into the water. The ship's crew tried to signal for assistance but to no avail. The captain decided to press on and just make their way to Sochi.
While on their way to Sochi, the vessel ran aground near the country of Chernarus. Tiger has never heard of this small nation. The hull of the ship had been damaged and according to the ship's engineers, the propeller was not responding. Talk about poor quality. And how a ship captain with 10 years of experience manage to run aground is beyond Tiger's understanding. The security team was assigned to go ashore on the Dingy with the captain to try and get some assistance. Tiger had left his weapon behind since they didn't want to violate any laws but took his passport. Tiger volunteered to go since he felt it was better than sitting on a tilted ship the entire time. He hopped aboard with a Chernarus crew member and the captain and himself. While back on the vessel, the security team shot flares in hopes to signal any passing ships. Once they arrived at the port, it was... empty. Not a person around. According to the Chernarus crew member, they were at the port in the town of Novigrad, the capital of Chernarus. Tiger was astonished by the cities Russian like architecture. He even asked the Chernarus crew member if the country was once a former Soviet Satellite state. He didn't get an answer.
It wasn't but a few minutes on shore did the three get attacked but some deranged mad-man that was pale, charge them and tackled the Chernarus crew member and began tearing into his flesh as a typical zombie would. The Captain quickly made a run back to the dingy but he was also jumped and torn apart by another man with the same pale skin. Tiger used his flight or fight skills and made a run for it into the town. He sprinted into the city, a foreign city in a foreign country and ran inside a house or apartment building thing and slammed the door behind him. He heard the heavy breathing coming from the next room and panicked and made a run for it out the back door. He looked for any signs that represented police or military. He was terrified to see soldiers pale with milky eyes, eating another poor victim. He stopped only a moment to witness this horror and then continued running down the street. He managed to find his way of the city and ran down the road until his adrenaline ran out and his exhaustion took over. He collapsed onto the grass by a tree panting for air and shaking.
Tiger realized really fast, he was in a different world. He needs to get help and find a way back to his ship and warn the others. Or at the very least, get out of this country or find an embassy. Preferably an American one. He had his passport in his jacket pocket but didn't know where he was or if this was even a country friendly to Americans. Luckily, Tiger does camping for fun so he has some survival skills. He sat there by the tree and looked up at the grey overcast sky. It seemed rain was approaching and it was cold outside. He better find shelter and hopefully, some help.
