Being born behind the Iron Curtains, Ivan has seen the worst of humanity exposed. After the battle at Borovo Selo and the shelling of Dubrovnik, he lied about his age to pick up arms to join the Croatian Home Guard (ZNG). Ivan was in basic training as the ’92 UN Ceasfire was announced thus keeping him out of the action until early ’93. Assigned to the 2nd Guards Brigade, he would fight until til the end of the war. In light of the war crimes committed from the Serbian side and the utter failure of UN peacekeeping forces at Srebrenica, Ivan decided to become a vigilante to bring those who committed those atrocities to justice. Ivan seeks to help those who are innocent and defenseless coming to their aide when they are at their weakness. He would venture into the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia post-war and discover those who committed such horrendous war crimes and deliver justice. Some might say the actions that were partaken in, could rival the Israeli Wrath of God operation following the Munich Olympics. Settling into post Y2K Croatia was hard for Ivan, with most of the war criminals either dead or waiting trial, he struggled to find work. This would lead him back into the Army to become an instructor in orienteering and wilderness survival. Upon the outbreak in Norway, the Croatian government sends a unit in to protect its assist while withdrawing their diplomats from their embassy in the north of the country. With the outbreak overtaking the embassy, Ivan evacuates himself and others but ends up getting split from his group in the chaos.
