Giannina (Nina) Knight was born in Sacramento, California. Her Mother was born and raised there, while her Father (she didn't learn till much later in life) was a Russian National, under asylum. Nina's life was sheltered, mostly. Her Father, like many, wanted to put a suit of armor around his little girl from a young age; she learned things outside of the norm for a seven, or eight year old girl. She grew up regulated, trained, and disciplined. School was a breeze, she avoided relations and focused on her studies. By the end of it, she was a sixteen year old bi-lingual girl with a full ride to college, among a host of lesser known skills.
She finished a bachelors in foreign diplomacy with honors, but then took an odd turn. Nina felt like it wasn't her calling. Fetching some foreign dignitary (or domestic for that matter) tea, while kissing their boot? It wasn't what she wanted. Instead, she chose the military, enlisting at the ripe age of eighteen. Her assessment scores were phenomenal. She was young, beautiful, and capable; her possibilities endless. She made good friends during her time there, and sharpened already honed senses. Quickly becoming respected as a young, and rising star within the ranks, even so to earn a promotion to more clandestine operations.
Then Chernarus. To date she has trouble deciding whether the plague was biblical, or scientific. Though, it didn't matter. Within a few hours, everyone, and everything she cared about had died. She almost ended it herself, but there was something driving her. At first they were stationed off shore.. Then they were doing "Neutralization" runs.. Then there wouldn't be contact for days. The military held up pretty well, until the food started running out. When the morale level dropped, so did the morals. She still doesn't speak about a lot of it, but she decided she would stay by herself from that point on. Keep moving until she found safety, or... They found her.
