Andrew Ryan ended an extended vacation for "personal health" came home to small town Texas, a loving family, and reality to finally face. He entered a whole new world of problems. Aimless, unemployed and going from living room couch to old "friend's" bedrooms. Doing odd jobs here and there, keeping his useless degree somewhere at home. He drifted away from friends, family, everyone he used to know. Deleting contacts, losing phone numbers, and all the while living off of a few pennies and handouts. While away his father spent months tracking him down, finding him. One day, they met and he had to give the news. While he was away, his mom got sick and passed away. Grief overwhelmed him and he broke down. His aimlessness spiraled down into depression and all he wanted was to get away, to start a new life. Weeks later he follows through, booking the cheapest flight to wherever he can using whatever money he had left.

Landing in Chernarus, he began his new life. This was just months before the infection. He built himself a little cabin somewhere in the woods, not the best looking but it did its job. He mostly lived off the land, using whatever his dad managed to teach him before everything fell apart. Hunting, fishing and trading with the locals. Wasn't much but he lived. Being isolated, the political issues and tensions were unknown to him, someone else problem as far as he is concerned. He always felt guilty just leaving his father and friends back home. He began to think more and more about returning, even if it means facing poverty and loneliness. However, as the infection spread, he began to notice more and more signs something was wrong. Making the trek to a nearby town, seeing the death, decay and infected everywhere he begins to accept and adapt to this new world, searching for a way back home. Now that everything has gone to shit, he is willing to go to the extremes to ensure his survival. After all, dad's been waiting long enough.
