I lost my family in the great plague and unraveling. I was away on business in Central Europe working the Oil Pipelines. Great money but not much for being home with the family. I kept in touch with them every night via Skype. I remember as things fell apart and it got harder and harder to reach them. First the internet went out then phone services and finally the electricity. I found a guy a month after the power went out who had a gennie and a serious HAM radio setup. I tried to reach out to anyone in the area and found a dude in Findlay. That's about 45 min from my home.
He told me NW Ohio was a mess and to be blunt not many made it out alive. Those that did were sent to the safe zones. He hadn't heard how they had fared as he was off grid and living in a remote urban area away from all residential areas. He was keeping a very low profile.
I wandered into Eastern Europe with a small pack of people that slowly broke apart due to disease(the Non Zombie type) or the dead and the living(bastards).. Many just wandered off and found a tree to hang themselves on.. Really bad times... I've survived by doing what was necessary. I am not bad by nature, but I tend to only team up with those that offer me something and hopefully(but not neccesarily) I have something to give them.
I am loyal to those closest to me and I can be downright Amoral to those I don't know.. it is a very tough and terrible world we all live in. I hope to find my new tribe soon.
