Being a first generation Norwegian. I felt like my parents had very high hopes for me. I mean, to be fair...They fled Nyheim for that exact reason, for me to live a better life then they were able to. But it always felt hard to live up to. I always felt like a big part of them always wanted to go back, but the life they lived there was long gone. They had lost everything they once had. Norway would always be home to them.


I did my best though, and graduated top of my class, and move towards my dream career. Medicine. I loved my job as a traveling ER nurse but it kept me very busy. It wasnt until I met my husband Kevin, that I learned to really slow down and appreciate the finer things in life. Family, traveling, quality time. We were finally planning the honeymoon we never had. And we were going to fly to Norway to visit my grandparents who still resided in Nyheim. We eagerly booked our tickets to Olso and were soon on our way over.

We traveled throughout Norway, heading towards our last stop - Nyheim, when the pandemic hit...and we have been here since. Trapped... Although I still havent determined if we are trapped out...or trapped in.
