Liam Clancy was born on the 2nd of September 1981, the youngest of five brothers in Galway, Ireland. His mother passed away while giving birth to Liam. His father was a miner in the Glengowla Mines and would work very hard to provide for his family. Over the years of being reared Liam was taught by his father to be a loyal, honest, honourable and hardworking man. During his younger years, Liam's father would bring him out fishing at Lough Mask and by the river Shannon. Liam would also attend a few Deer hunts with his uncles and have an amateur level understanding of surviving in the outdoors. Life was good and Liam and his brothers seemed to have a simple life, until one day a section of the mine collapsed, killing his father and leaving his brothers to fend for themselves. They all pulled out of school and started work in the mine. Hours were long and pay was virtually nothing. Liam and his brothers learned to hate "honest work", which they felt was doing nothing except holding them from rising above the struggle they found themselves in. In their off-time the brothers tended to hang out in the local bars and met some men who worked in Ireland's underworld. Liam began doing work for these men on the side as a way to accumulate money but very quickly was consumed by how much money he could make if he was working full time in this criminal world. Liam began talking to his brothers and convincing them that to live a better life they had to follow this road Liam had revealed in front of them. The brothers agreed, some reluctantly, and began to help Liam with any nefarious activity he got up to. The pay was good, and the work was surprisingly fun. The brothers found themselves doing a several different activities including protection, burglary, assassinations, turf wars, arms trafficking, extortion, fraud and drug trafficking. Life was going well, Liam and his brothers had enough money to get themselves out of the squaller they were in, but Liam felt like he wasn't living; he was just surviving...
This feeling had changed however, when one day Liam was flipping through the Irish Times (a local newspaper) when he came across an article that spanned a full two pages dedicated to a famous group of Thieves who were robbing banks all across the UK. Liam was surprised, these people were doing bad things and making a lot of money yet also being idolized in the media. This concept sounded enticing to him and it wasn't long before Liam convinced his brothers to like the idea. Very soon after they were all in agreement, the Clancy Brothers were born. They began travelling to Dublin, robbing any jewellery store or valuable target they might find on the way, with the destination target being the Bank of Ireland in Dublin city. It took a couple of months, but they finally made it to Dublin and quickly began to surveille the target and devise their plan. It was to be the perfect job; to go off without a hitch and at the end of the operation have the Clancy Brothers being as far away from Dublin as humanly possible. Amazingly, the heist did go off without any man being caught or killed, and the brothers got away. Sadly, it was like the authorities were expecting them to turn up there, as there was many Gardaí set up in the city to protect the bank. They did not succeed in defending the bank, however they did succeed in having cameras waiting to capture pictures of all the Clancy Brothers so that they knew exactly who they were looking for.
After finding this out the Clancy Brothers decided to flee to Spain to hide out for a while, a place where a lot of Irish criminals tended to go into hiding. It wasn't very long until they noticed some suspicious characters loitering around where they were hiding and the brothers decided to move on and thought if they escaped into less civilized lands they might have a chance of successfully disappearing. They brothers got on a boat from Valencia, Spain to Tripoli, Libya. Rather than just being one boat trip away the brothers decided to catch another boat from the same port to Mersin in Turkey. Sadly, as obvious foreigners to the land, the brothers weren't treated the best and kept on the move never staying in the same town for more than a night. The brothers hovered around with no particular direction in mind, sometimes wondering into other countries like Syria, Armenia and Georgia, until finally when stopping in the town of Trabzon in Turkey.
In this town, Liam heard of a boat that was sailing that afternoon towards a little country that he had never heard of before, Chernarus. The brothers boarded the boat and learned that it would be docking in a harbour on the east coast of Chernarus. The brothers did not speak or cause a scene in any way as to not draw any attention to themselves as foreigners as they planned when the boat anchored to disappear into the mountains of this country, or better yet escape to Russia. Their plan was foiled however as they were sailing they found themselves in a bad storm at sea. One bad wave sent the ship crew into a frenzy and chaos broke out all across the ship. Men argued, fought, ran, hid and ultimately all of this was stopped when another wave hit the broad side of the ship capsizing it. A few moments prior, Liam had ran up to the deck towards the bow to take a look at the insanity that was going on. As the ship was hit Liam was thrown backwards, slamming into the rails of the deck and flipping over them, falling off the ship into the insane waters below. Coming in and out of consciousness, Liam would try his best to keep his head above water but wasn't aware of all that was happening around him at this time.
He wakes up an unknown amount of time later on the shores. Tired, thirsty, hungry, disoriented, Liam stands up and looks around but doesn't see his brothers. Getting himself together, he tasks himself to survive long enough to reunite with his lost brothers.
