It was a dark, tempestuous night, and malevolent waves crashed all around us, as the ocean attempted to swallow our boat whole. Our sailboat, glaringly insignificant amongst the black abyss below, could no longer fight the tug of the icy tendrils, reaching like arms, to capsize what was once our home. The violent jolt threw me overboard, clutching, and shaking my limbs as though a rag doll, the expanse long since claiming the lifeless bodies of my wife, Myrcella, and son, Finch, of whom I was powerless to help. From amongst the omnipresent waves, debris hurtled around my person, a maelstrom of malice, until inevitably colliding, knocked senseless to the chaos around me. The only recollection I had of my life before, other than my name, Demetrius Starling, as I awoke, disheveled, with a broken mind, on a desolate coast, unaware of the world I had reawoken into. The only thing that was certain, is that I had to survive, if only for the sake of my family, to preserve the fractured memories and a broken mind of whatever came before, and hope that the rest would return to me, in time. and now has found god. and help others find him.
