Back in Canada, Dusty was a proud producer of Maple Syrup; including various infusions with fruits. Everyone loved his maple syrup variations and his business was thriving due to his creativity in creating new flavors. Given his success with his past infusions he started traveling the world looking for new ideas to add to his maple syrup line. He had traveled to South America to explore the options of tropical infusions, and found some success there.
This gave him the idea of creating a "World Tour of Maple Syrup" set, so he kept exploring other parts of the globe to immerse himself in local culture and infuse pieces of the local palette into his syrups. Eventually he arrived in Eastern Europe, and was traveling along the Trans-Siberian railroad when the outbreak happened. He had read that Slavs believed maple trees had a mystical meaning, and were considered a symbol of reincarnation. With the outbreak happening, it seemed like there was no better time to pursue this idea than now.
