Oscar is a man with a big heart, and even bigger mouth. Born in Dallas Memorial Hospital, it was said he cried so long after birth he eventually had the nurses ready to quit. At least that's the story his dearest mother swears to him.
Born to a Texan Father who never stepped foot outside the US, and his college sweetheart Kirstin Borg, he enjoy a modicum of normalcy growing up. A trouble maker growing up, six months in juvenile detention set him off from a path of rebellion against his parents to respecting them. Oscar was also able to become penpals with his grandfather who would visit yearly to take him game hunting and unsuccessfully lecture him into being a soccer player. He grew far closer to Grandpa Olaf that even his own parents.
Oscar eventually settled down with Ramona Desantis, after having a one night stand and getting told he was to be a father a month later. Despite not being a marriage of genuine love, he wanted his daughter to enjoy the same benefits of two parents as he had. Rosemary Nixon was born on July 7th, 2007.
As his relationship with his wife held together out of sheer willpower, Oscar kept his friendship going with his grandfather for the next decade. Olaf in turn enjoyed Oscar's time spent, as well as his great granddaughter's.
Olaf's health deteriorated eventually, reaching 98 years old. He died just four days before the lockdowns in Norway. Unluckily for Oscar and his family, he arrived the day of the lockdowns of foreigners. Unwilling to get himself quarantined and locked away like some kind of prisoner, he took his family off to his grandfathers home before customs could quarantine him in his hotel. He instead drove north, eventually getting lost on the way in the rental car he had.
He and his family eventually turned up in the region of Nyheim and set up a comfy situation in the town of Oya, far away from any dangers, or so he thought. His wife grew ill over time, eventually dying to pneumonia just a month into setting up shelter. All he had left to him was his daughter, who she too would find her way to heaven due to her refusing to listen to his curfew. Seven weeks after the death of Ramona, Rosemary was jumped by two infected and never stood a chance. She supposedly had a teenage infatuation nearby yet never made it.
Oscar was left with nothing left; the daughter he cared for gone, his grandfather gone, no way home to his parents, and by no stretch was he getting any younger. Yet Oscar, under whatever willpower he had left, was just too bitter to die. Or so he thought. On a drive to Nyvol, or Dead City, he joined some newcomers into Oya. Thinking it was luck that he found some friendly people with a car, that changed when he found himself with guns pointed at him and screaming by a half dozen people. Robbed of his belongings, and threatened to be a hostage for no fault of his own, he refused to go along with his attackers. He was granted a quick death with a bullet to the cranium. Perhaps he was just done with life, or that big mouth refused to deal with unjust demands.
He left a note to his only neighbor in Oya of his plans to do some trading in Nyvol, and that neighbor most assuredly is worried of his whereabouts. As he is now likely the only person left in the town.
