Personality: Alyssa doesn't like dealing with her problems or with the turmoil her life has turned into since the apocalypse. She gets snappy and always has a hard shell that she displays to guard herself from her feelings. She keeps her fear and loneliness bottled up inside which only leads to her being snarky and sarcastic around new people. She's extremely strong and independent, however, she wishes that she could let her guard down around more people but she's scared that opening up and showing her vulnerabilities is going to get her killed. She's also very outspoken, she doesn't fear to let her opinions be known and isn't afraid to defend herself if she feels the need to do so. She likes to be in charge and doesn't like taking commands. She's a natural born leader and is able to get things done swiftly. While on the outside Alyssa looks like a scorned mess once she opens up to someone she is comfortable around they will soon realize that she is always willing to take care of people who need her help and that she is just protecting herself from more heartbreak.
Appearance: Alyssa is extremely short, she is 5'2" tall and an average build. Her hair is dark brown that goes beyond her lower back. Her eyes are a bright blue, almost the color of the ocean. On the day of the apocalypse Alyssa was wearing army pants, knee high boots and a sweatshirt. It's been almost a year since the apocalypse and so her clothing is now tattered and stained from the wounds she's endured.
Alyssa was left with her father by her addict mother when she was only three years old. She has always looked up to him, he was her hero. Alyssa was constantly being moved around as soon as she got comfortable with the people around her causing her to put the shell around her emotions; unable to make any real connections with anyone. She was a polar opposite from her father, he was the happiest man in the world who's smile would light up the world. He taught Alyssa everything she knows; from tying her shoes to shooting a gun. He is Chief Master Sergeant in the Air Force; his most recent deployment has taken him to the Incirlik Air Base in Incirlik, Turkey. Alyssa has always found a bright side to the constant moving from the deployments. She gets to see the world and experience everything the world has to offer.
Alyssa was backpacking from Turkey to Chernarus, she loved the small towns and the friendly people. She didn't speak much Russian but they still welcomed her with open arms. She was couch surfing doing small jobs on the side to pay for food. She got a temporary job cleaning at the local bakery in Chernogorsk, during the day she worked and at night she got to do what she came here for, exploring the countryside. Alyssa was at work listening to the radio and dancing while cleaning the shop when the radio stopped mid-song and flipped to playing a warning.
"Это не предупреждение! Ищите убежище немедленно и держите все окна и двери запертыми"
"This is not a warning! Seek shelter immediately and keep all windows and doors locked."
Alyssa had assumed that Chernarus was under attack and she was caught in a war zone. She ran and crouched behind the counter frantically searching for a knife, it was something she could protect herself with. She heard a loud bang and screaming it sounded like a car crash; she slipped the knife into her pocket and ran outside to go help, against her better judgement. She was met with screaming and a scene from a horror film. The car had smashed against a pole, the driver was missing part of his face but was still moving, trying to grab at the passenger who was screaming struggling to remove his seat belt. The driver reached over, grabbed the passenger and bit right into the man's neck. Alyssa had never seen more blood or been more terrified in her life. She took off running and soon found herself in the middle of a field next to a farmhouse. She ran to the door and knocked hoping that someone was inside. She sat there for a few minutes and with no answer she slowly opened the door and walked inside. She crept into the side room to be met with another gruesome sight. There was a woman, disfigured face, bite marks covering her body and blood EVERYWHERE, she had been shot in the head. Alyssa walked near the body tears in her eyes trying to figure out what had happened to this poor lady when she heard whimpering from the bathroom. She walked over and slowly opened the door and whispered "Hello?" as she opened the door all she heard was a ear ringing BANG! with the gunshot Alyssa screamed and inside the bathroom there was an older man with half his face blown off. Almost immediately he coughed up blood and stood up, his eyes met with hers. They were not a natural color and Alyssa KNEW something was off. She bolted out the backdoor sprinting across the field with the undead dead man chasing after her. He was gaining speed and just as she was about to give up hope of outrunning the man she heard another gunshot, then a thud. The man's body dropped to the ground. Alyssa turned around as fast as she could to the gunshot and saw a man running to her waving his arms. She slowly pulled the kitchen knife out of her pocket and gripped it firmly, her knuckles turning white. The man reached her and put his gun behind his back and raised his hands, Alyssa had assumed to show that he wasn't a danger to her. "Miss? Do you speak English?" the man asked. Alyssa nodded her head, completely shaken from everything that had happened in the past thirty minutes. "Do you want to come with me?" he said with a slight smile on his face. Alyssa nodded her head again, knowing that her small kitchen knife isn't going to save her from the creatures that these people have become. The man slowly put out his right hand and said "My name is Rae, what's yours?" She glanced around wondering if she could trust this man.. Knowing that she most likely couldn't survive with him she looked back at him and said "My name is Alyssa Wynters, where are we headed?" She gave her friendliest smile and with that Rae motioned to her and they began jogging across the field.
