Allie Drumm from Toronto Canada, studies diseases and viruses at the University of British Columbia. She was selected by the UN to join an international team of scientists and soldiers to try and figure out what has caused the outbreak and what made it spread so quickly. Allie was hesitant to accept the offer, but eventually did so knowing that her findings could help stop something like this from happening again and possibly find out what the virus is exactly. On the flight towards Chernarus, she was imagining what life is like there and how the people are, if there are any left. On arriving, a few infected were drawn near the noise of the plane but were soon taken down by the soldiers on the team. Upon initial inspection by herself and the other scientists, they were in awe that these "people" were decaying and deteriorating as if they were dead. The team was escorted to an area near a the big city named Chernogorsk. They set up their research base in an abandoned warehouse and would enter the city if they needed to restock supplies or if they needed to get an infected and bring it back to their base for study. Allie initially felt like she was doing great work but realized the danger of being in Chernarus, the "living dead" as she called them were very aggressive and had killed two of her fellow teammates in an attempt to get more supplies. After a few weeks of work, her and her team were not really getting anywhere with the investigation; she felt useless and decided that she was not cut out for this job and wanted passage back home. Sadly the UN would not allow her nor her team to leave until they either find a cure or a viable strand of the virus. Allie and her team felt trapped; some ended up going crazy and decided to end their lives to escape the difficulties of being in this country. Allie knew that she needed to find some cure or a least solid information in order to get a way back home. She decided that she was done sitting in a single location repeating the same routine and decided to leave and go out and learn in the field. She grabbed her stuff and one of the soldiers sent with her hoping to find a lead somewhere else. She left early in the morning with only one goal in mind. Find the Cure.
