Brandon's family had already moved to america by the time he was born, his father had suggested the idea and while his mother disagreed she never the less went along with the idea. He grew up richer than most, especially in New York as his father easily transferred to a new branch of his company here in the states. With two older brothers Brandon's parents thought it would be best to give him a more "american name" as he was the first family member to be born. Growing up his father pushed hard for all of his sons to be successful and while Brandons oldest brother was a shining example of what their father wanted, Brandon and the middle child were not. At fifteen Brandon had already gotten expelled from two private schools and was reluctantly put into a public, more local school to his fathers dismay. At seventeen his middle brother was in a fatal car accident due to drunk driving, while it wasn't his fault Brandon's father placed the blame on him and the two grew further away. As time went on Brandon and his father refused to talk and eventually Brandon decided he had had a enough and wanted to leave. After graduation of high school. that his father did not attend, Brandon moved on to looking for work. More schooling didn't seem like a good idea and eventually he settled on getting a job at the dock yards. A few months later a job posting as crew on a oil tanker. He took the job withought a moments notice.
His father wouldn't even bother to say goodbye to him. A few years later still working on the same ship and a freak storm caused the ship to make a sudden stop at a smaller out of the way dock. Docked in Chernarus the boat waited for repairs while Brandon and the rest of his crew either stayed on the boat or out on the town. By the time the outbreak was in full swing and borders closed it was too late. He was stuck.
