Iosif was born in a dangerous, run-down city called Norilsk. The city was filled with pollutants and crime, no place for an infant to live. His parents were extremely poor, and close to reaching the level of poverty. His brother Alexander was serving his term for the Soviet Union and was not home for most Iosif's life. He had grown and witnessed his surroundings as a small child he would see daily crimes including theft, assault and even murder. He had seen it all and wondered why all of this was happening around him. He was too young to understand. His parents were never home, working 10 to 12 hours almost everyday trying to provide for the family. But, when his parents were home they would fight and his father, Vadim, would occasionally give his wife Anastasia a beating. Iosif did not know why his father was hitting his mother and it frightened him. His father would sometimes turn the beatings over to him. His mother would always come to comfort him in his time of need when she was home. She loved him dearly. When Iosif was 13 he ran with a gang of delinquents from his local school, they would commit low-level crimes and get caught multiple times by the police. They would get jail time and beaten as well. Iosif would continue to run with his gang and do what he could to get money. One day him and his gang went to rob their usual store but the cashier knew that they would come as they hit the store every week. He had pulled a gun on them and told them to leave, when they didn't leave he opened fire on one of Iosif's closest friends and killed him. This angered Iosif and he took out his knife and charged the man. He had slit his throat and stabbed him in the gut 16 times. He was never caught. When Iosif turned 21 he had learned to stick low and be one with the shadows. He was now willing to do anything for money, and even get a euphoric sensation from a robbery or an assault. He loved doing what he was doing and wanted more. When he had heard the passing of his mother he was devastated, but showed no physical remorse, he was angry. Eventually he had found out his father had beaten her to death, so he went back to his old house where his father lived and killed him. He would then tie him upside down with his guts to resemble an upside down crucifix. He knew what he did was evil and he loved it. Iosif didn't stop there, he butchered 40+ people in and outside of his village. People started to call him Lyutsifer as all of his victims lay upside down as a crucifix with their guts tying them down. Law enforcement had tracked him down after for 2 years and finally found him squatting in an abandoned steel mill. He was Imprisoned at the Gulag Archipelago for life and was awaiting the death penalty on death row. After 15 years had passed the warden of the Gulag had ordered that the prisoners were to be moved to a prison island of the coast of Kamenka, Chernarus. Just one year after being settled in that prison, the alarms sounded and mass panic had taken over the world. Guards around the prison would radio other people from the mainland but they had received no response. They went to go set out for the mainland and didn't come back. Iosif was locked in confinement for 2 weeks after the guards disappeared. He didn't know what was going on but he wanted out. He searched his cell to find a small paperclip wedged in between a crack in the concrete floor and picked the 4 locks holding him back. He unlocked the doors and found body's in the hallway and found that the whole island was deserted. He saw some people walking around the prison but they were acting strangely. He noticed that one man had his jaw removed, it surprised him but did not leave him in shock. He instead broke his was into the wardens office to find him dead in his chair with a pistol laying next to him. He picked it up and took whatever supplies he could with him. He had a long swim to go.
