Blake Whelan, and his older brother Bellamy, were moved to Chernarus by their conspiracy theorist father, whom uprooted his children because he did not feel he could trust the American government. The house they lived in was very secluded, just south Novaya Petrovka. At the time Blake was 6 years old, and Bellamy was 8. However Peter Whelan began homeschooling them, training them in the ways of survival, how do handle civilian weaponry. He trained Both children in hand to hand combat, so relentlessly in fact, that rumors spread throughout Novaya that Peter was abusing them. However, by the time Blake was 16, Peter had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, and died 6 months later, leaving Bellamy to care for Blake. This was a struggle as the boys had not been taught any other language but English. Fast forward 2 years, Bellamy works as a farmhand and is supporting Blake and himself in a shitty apartment in Novaya. He is at work when the infection breaks out, and hops into his shitty pick-up truck and races towards Blake's school. By now he is frantic, the roads were crowded with infected and non-infected alike. He leaves the truck running in his haste, and throws the school doors open, not realizing they would stay ajar. He searched ravenously through the school until her found his brother, dragging him by the collar of his shirt into the hallway. That was when the first scream rang out, Bellamy glanced down the hallway to see a wave of chaos coming straight for them. Teachers tackling students, students ripping the flesh of teachers. The brothers race through the school, and into the gymnasium where Bellamy kicks the back exit open and pulls his younger brother Blake through. He glanced at those following behind, whether to escape or pursue, and shuddered as he slammed the door shut in their faces, swiftly locking it with the dangling padlock before a thundering impact slammed into the door, sending Bellamy stumbling back. Blake stared, eyes wide, meanwhile Bellamy gripped him by the shoulder and dragged him into the forest, screams of Blake's classmates and teachers being eaten alive following behind them. Bellamy never looked back, he simply dragged Blake forward, and stared straight ahead. That is how the end began, for the Whelan brothers.
