Background

Walter Warden, a Chernarus local, his family moved here when from the united states when he was just a baby, Living off the grid for a great deal of his youth and young adult life Walter is a simpleton, He has been raised around farming/hunting/trapping. He has lived off the "grid" since birth, he has never had a lot of human interaction besides with his immediate family members and the locals of the small local village where they would trade and sell goods, walter hasn't been around Chernarus much at all, there are a lot of things walter hasn't done in life, some even simple everyday things such as drive a car, use a cellphone or ever even live in a house with running water or electricity, One day walter ventured out to the nearest village in attempt to sell some furs, it was usually a 2 day trip, 1 day to hike to the village spend the night and the next to hike back. Walter would always leave at sunrise in attempt to make the best timing possible, this time would not be the same, Walter gathered his things and left just he normally would any other trip he makes the long walk to the village but as he nears the village he is overwhelmed by the silence and the absence of people or children that usually fill the fields and street, as he nears closer to town he can smell the stench, walter heads to the local trader shop to notice the door locked, he leans in to take a look through the glass and he can see what appears to be blood on the counter tops and walls, he backs up in shock to hear what sounds like someone moaning in pain and agony, he turns to see the trader coming towards him, his skin looking pale, the stench growing stronger with every single step, his face sagging and half rotting, Walter stands there in shock, as the trader nears walter he snaps back to it pulling his simple skinning knife and stabbing the trader in the side of the head. What was that? what is going on? in sheer fear walter turns and begins to sprint in the way which he spent half his day walking, he runs for what seems like forever but in reality is only a couple hundred yards, he stops and hides in a near by ditch, attempting to gain some clarity on what just happened, he finally decides to just go home, he begins to walk...….. Several hours later, he tops the hill, finally he can see his tiny cabin in the distance the beautiful sunset setting over the ridge as always almost helps him forget about the event that just took place hours beforehand, But why is there no smoke? its getting cold out and they usually always have a good fire going by now and dinner should be getting ate right around this time, he beings to walk in his home direction. as he gets closer he cant hear any laughter or chatter coming from inside as usual, He begins to sweat, his heart racing feeling as if it is gonna beat right through his chest, he cant see inside, its dark, theres no light. Walter slowly reaches for the door handle, as he begins to turn the knob the door suddenly flings open, His own father lunging at him as if he is just a piece of meat for a pack of wild dogs, walter turns and runs, he is screaming and it feels like he is in a nightmare, he gets away and hides in the nearby woods. What has happened? what is going on? Walter spends the next couple of days/nights in the woods around his cabin. He finally decides what needs to happen. He slowly sneaks upon his cabin..... Walter still refuses to speak on the events that happened that day, he now wanders around Chernarus aimlessly in the woods, starving himself barely keeping himself alive. One night in he has a dream, it is as if his dream is inside a dream, its his fathers voice, from a long far away distance, telling him to press on, Life isn't over, "Keep your nose on the grindstone son" over and over and over. Walter now has to overcome mentally what has happened. He is now ready, is there anyone left? it cant be everyone can it? Time will only tell.
