Robin Anderson was born in Belgium in 1997. Before the outbreak he was a student, studying human health engineering. He lived in a dorm close to the university but still visits his parents and his younger brother regularly. In July 2017, during the summer holiday, Robin decides to visit his cousin, Anthony, who moved Chernarus two years earlier. Robin has never been to this country before so has very little knowledge about it. His goal is to learn more about the country and his rich history during his stay there. Unfortunately, shortly after his arrival disaster happened. The first thing Robin heard about the upcoming events was when he was watching the news about the Russian military bombing a Chernarus military base north of Severograd. Robin was shaken by this news and was planning to return to Belgium since he didn’t want to get caught up in a war. However, his cousin convinced Robin to stay a little bit longer since he just arrived. Anthony assured Robin they were safe since they were living on the other side of the country, and the conflict would probably be over soon. Unfortunately Anthony was wrong and the conflict escalated. Both sides kept bombarding each other and the Russians even started an artillery attack. Robin started packing and was planning to leave the country when the first news of people infected with some kind of virus that turned them in to mindless zombies started to spread. Anthony definitely also wanted to leave the country after they heard about this news and they decided to drive to the airport by car. Unfortunately it was a long drive and when they were halfway there, the car started having engine problems since it wasn’t maintained very well. Robin and Anthony had to continue their journey on foot. While they were travelling, they got attacked by an infected person. Anthony managed to kill him with the knife he always carries with him. Unfortunately, he also got hurt in the process. The injury wasn’t that bad and a bandage made from a piece of clothing stopped the bleeding. Unfortunately, being bitten by the zombie meant there was a high chance Anthony got infected. Anthony convinced Robin to leave him behind. Anthony would stay at an abandoned house and rest there for a day, recovering from his fight with the zombie. If he wasn’t infected, he would resume his journey to the airport the next day and eventually meet Robin again there. Unfortunately, not knowing the region and not having a guide anymore, Robin got lost. Eventually he found some abandoned houses. One of them had a radio that works on batteries, which was still working. Unfortunately the news Robin got from the radio was bad. The whole country was in quarantine and no flights were going in or out. Robins goal is now to just survive. Unfortunately Robin has little survival skills and has never touched a weapon in his live due to Belgium’s strict weapon laws. Luckily being a student, he’s able to learn fast from the books he finds in the houses he loots for food and supplies. Robins goals is now to find other survivors so they can work together to build new communities. In the end, Robin hopes he will be able to return to Belgium to check if his family is ok but he knows that will probably take a really long time if it’s even possible at al.
