Haise Furukawa(29) was a rice paddy farmer before the outbreak. After a hard days work Haise loved to spend time with his family and go fishing with his only daughter Kaori(5). Haise believes honesty is the best policy. In his free time he would help others in the village and was known for always lending a helping hand. Haise was never rich when it came to money, but when it came to heart and life, he was the richest man until..

Haise wakes up to a home filled with nothing but blood stains and splatters covering everything.  His daughter and wife are no where to be seen. Haise goes outside, there is a fog over his whole village. He sees no one, hears nothing. There's an eerie presence in the air. Haise decides to grab food, water, a knife, photo of his family and heads to the family boat. He sets out NW (the initials of his missing wife Nagisa Watanabe) a few days pass and a violent storm destroys the small boat Haise is on. He wakes up ashore in a foreign place with the bag of supplies still on his back. Haise hopes to find anyone, anything. His family and village are gone and it seems there is no one left in this world except for him. He feels lost without someone to help or something to protect. He sees a dark shadow in the distance of this foreign wasteland, Haise runs toward the figure, as he gets closer he sees the figure a little clearer. There's blood... and there's something on the ground lying still.

Extra info: Haise is from a small village that mainly subsistence farms. There is little to no electricity so the villagers know little of world outside this tiny village(the reason he washes ashore knowing little about what happened.) He used to teach the children English so they could one day go to school in the city.
