Before the Decline, Alex Davis was an Apprentice Heavy Equipment Operator, flown in from Canada to do his 2 year work term so he can earn his Journeyman papers, he spent his youth growing up in a small community on the outskirts of Labrador named Cartwright, here he learned from his father Samuel Davis how to survive off the land, being so far from any major city, it was the primary way to survive. he lived a tight nit life style with his friends and family in Cartwright, being such a small community everyone already considered each other family.
Had being completed his training in Sept of 2015 Alex was all to pleased when Chern.co had called him for an apprentice position in May 2017. his stent was to be the duration of his apprenticeship 2 full years. then he was offered a full time job and the chance to also go home.
Events that followed once he arrived in Chernarus were the same as everyone else, as they were for Alex. he had been moved around from relief camp to relief camp town to town, base to base, He knew the towns were the place these monsters were most dangerous so he split off and made for the woods. it had been months surviving off the wilderness and he came up with a new plan. try and find a plane or at least get home. his first stop an airport.
It's no good, all the planes are grounded and any form a military structure have all but dissolved, there are splinter groups with military background but none that he knows for sure who have a grip on the situation.
One day after an awful encounter with a group north, Alex was gutting a deer outside of Zelenogorsk when he heard shots coming from in the city. Given his experience this could mean one of two things; one, Someone was in trouble and needed help. or two, there was a fire fight between people. because of his natural naive trust in people Alex decided to venture into town to see if someone needed help, and too his surprise he was right, a man was shooting a stream of Infected one after another after another with pin point accuracy as if they had military training, Alex ran up and knifed a few stragglers in the back. After the dust settled the two men looked each other down, the man from the town had his face covered. "Alex?! is that you?!" the man said as he lowered his gun. "Do I know you?" Alex replied with a confused look on his face. "Its me, Merik!" the man said as he started to remove his coverings. Alex was is shock, of all the people... Merik.. here, no why would he be here!? Alex would think to himself.. "but.. your.." Alex ran up and gave Merik a hug. It had been the first time in two and a half years Alex had seen any of his family, Merik is Alex's cousin from the states. The two caught up with each other and started to trek south.
Venturing south the pair quickly realised the only way they were gunna survive was if they dug deep and set down roots. so they started to construct a camp, the idea was that if anyone needed shelter or safety they were welcome, and it just so happens Alex and Merik ran into two other survivors with similar mindsets; Jake Lawson, and James Dermont had been scouting in the area and made contact, Alex told the two what they were doing and had a friendly conversation with the pair. they said there farewells and thought that was the end of it.
Four days had past and Alex and Merik had all the walls up. waking up only to find two tents placed down and both James and Jake sleeping inside. a new friendship had been formed, one that would bind these 4 lost souls together for the foreseeable future.
