Paul was born in Arnhem, the Netherlands, where he grew up in a family with 2 brothers and 3 sisters. His older sister was part of a nationalistic movement that supported Nazi germany. He was tricked in signing up for a police education in Germany through his sister and eventually ended up having to serve in the Waffen-SS 5. Wiking. Here he enjoyed strict military training. in 1941 he was hit in the lungs, the bullet still stuck in his body, he was sent back to his homeland. Back in the Netherlands he started working as an instructor for the police education batallion, using his knowledge he gained in the war. After the war he was no longer welcome and being hunted by the government for having served in a foreign army without permission of her majesty the queen. Looking elsewhere to spend the rest of his life he ended up being an instructor for the military forces on Chernarus. After the infection hit he and a small group of soldiers were send to keep order in a nearby town. Eventually they were overran and what was left of the group spent their lives in a secluded part of nature, where paul used his skills to live of the lands. After a while he started wondering if more people were still out there and decided to look for other survivors and help where he could.
