Joining the United States Army at age 18, Bert was a troubled teen with some steam to let loose. Initially joining the 10th Mountain Division, Bert quickly proved himself to be a tough gritty kid and went on to qualify and pass the Ranger Assessment Selection Program hence joining the 75th Ranger Regiment. Being assigned to the 3rd Ranger Battalion Bert again proved himself by earning his Ranger tab and and serving in two tours over seas. At the age of 21 Bert decided to try his luck and enrolled in the Special Forces Qualification Course or Q Course. Bert passed the long process and was assigned to the 3rd Special Forces Group. He served with the 3rd SFG for 8 years before he was granted a tryout for 'The Unit' more commonly know as Delta Force. Bert jumped at his chance and again passed the intense trial that the Army had thrown at him. Whilst serving in the 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment-Delta (1st SFOD-D) Bert was given a covert mission. He had heard news about some sort of breakout in a country he knew little about but never thought he would be assigned to go intercept a specimen sample to bring to the United States. When his unit landed via chopper they were quickly over ran and he was separated from his Unit, what was left of them at least. Despite seeing his brothers in arms turn before him Bert did not receive the same fate. He determined he was immune to whatever it was that was turning people into monsters. While looking for his lost brothers Bert was stopped by a group of bandits that fancied his top tier gear and was swiftly knocked out and robbed blind. Unaware of his location and with no help around, Bert has been trying to survive this long nightmare and hopes to reunite with his Unit.
