Background

John Hammerlock, a farmer who is hesitant towards violence against the un-infected. He enjoys a peaceful life whenever possible, and is not easily provoked. He doesn't mind working in a group, but usually goes it alone after having lost someone important to him. Most of his interactions involve feeding people he meets along the way, in exchange for some practical item, or a little protection.

John never married and he has no living family that he knows of. This doesn't bother him during the day, but late at night he thinks about his family name disappearing after his demise. John wants to contribute to rebuilding the world that was lost due to the infected and their callous rampages.

John's peaceful ways led him to an impasse where he had to let his only family die, his brother, in order to save a young boy from several infected. He knows in his heart it was the right thing to do, but he couldn't bear to see the young boys face, so he left him in a safe-house and left to find a new life. He returned a while later, and there were no signs of the boy, or the supplies John had left him.

Crushed, John wanders Chernarus to farm and provide for others, but not get too close to them, lest he is hurt again.
