Miles Summers, as a child she learned to take care of herself. Her father had run away with a different woman and died only a few years later from heart failure. At the age of twelve she was taking care of her mother who, because of an accident, had been paralysed from the waist down. Her life had never been easy. School was something she couldn’t afford and as soon as she could she found a job working in a rundown supermarket. Her neighbourhood wasn’t the best either, people were either drunk, high or hiding from their responsibilities. Because of this the friends she made were not always the best influencers.
At the age of fourteen her mother got taken into a care centre, where she would be cared for the rest of her life. This made Miles realise how much time she had put into just taking care of her mother. All that free time was now spend partying and drinking. Her life made a huge turn and even though she loved her mother, she liked going out more. Almost a year passed and the friends she made along the way decided to travel to Russia. Of course Miles couldn’t say ‘No’ to that and agreed to go with them. They would all take a bus together, party and have fun. At least that was the plan…
Upon arriving in Russia, word went around of a virus; at first nothing big, but slowly turning into something straight out of a movie. The group didn’t really pay much attention to it at first, I mean they came there to party not to feel afraid of a little virus. A few days went by and they finally figured out that this ‘little virus’ was more than they thought it was. As soon as you had a few of the symptoms you had to go to the hospital. One of her friends began to get the first few symptoms. Nausea, high fever and a sickly pale complexion. Rushing to the hospital they got the sense of how bad this was getting. People were lining up, but no one was really being helped. At this point they had no idea what to do, their friend was slowly dying of an unknown virus and even though the doctors tried there wasn’t enough of them to go around.
Then a scream filled the air, people were running and everything seemed to crumble. In the midst of everything she lost sight of her friends. All alone in a place turned crazy she had no choice but to run, meeting the few unfortunate people that had been overtaken by the virus and the people they were beating down. She knew this was something she wasn’t going to recover from easily, so she hid in a convenient store until most had calmed down. Once the streets had cleared she decided to go and find her friends. Looking for a long time throughout Russia, meeting people that helped her in some way and people that were less helpful. Until she came across an elderly couple, still living in the same house they got married in. They told her that most people that passed by their house would go to a place called Chernarus, with a new link to finding her friends she set out to Chernarus. Hoping she would find her friends and a way back home.
Upon crossing the border she noticed how much everything had changed. Not really in the mood to go and get attacked by the infected she decided to go and travel through the forest. It was quiet there and she had some time to think about what she wanted, how she was going to survive on her own.
