Background

Miller was born and raised in Upstate NY by a loving mother and typical "tough man" father. His grandfather, which he looked up to very much, was a bomber pilot in World War 2, with 50 missions complete over occupied territory. He never was much of an outdoorsy type, but he was smart, graduating High School with mostly A's and going to college in Buffalo NY for Mechanical Engineering. While in college he pursued some of his hobbies, such as getting his pilot's license and spending more time than he probably should have playing dozens of video games. His Senior year of college he met a girl named Trish, and after some more than awkward interactions he finally asked her out. They fell in love, and by the time he graduated college they had bought an apartment together and were ready to start their lives together. After he graduated, he worked for a local company called Calspan, and was excited to be able to travel with the company around the US and Europe. Everything was great and Miller was even getting ready to propose to Trish when he had to go to Chernogorsk for a meeting with various executives of the company, something he had never done before. Staying at the international hotel like so many others who were there for the meeting, things would obviously take a turn for the worst when everything started, and he was cut off from his family, from Trish, and from the life he felt he deserved.
