Richard "Rich" Lineman was born and raised an only child in a suburb just outside of Austin, Texas. From as far back as he can remember, he'd always been an aspiring outdoorsmen. He enjoyed camping, hunting, and overall experiencing nature for all it was worth. Being an only child, Rich became used to solitude and was completely comfortable without company. His family moved to Staroye, in the heart of the Chernarus woodlands because his father was offered a prestigious position in that city's hospital. Rich spent the rest of his teens and most of his twenties in that town and eventually landed a job in radio. His unimportant role in the workplace weighed heavy on him, but Rich found positivity in the beautiful terrain that Chernarus had to offer. Although Rich's father wasn't proud of his life/career choices (and made that very clear to him), Rich still continued to look up to his dad and he aspired to help people just like his old man. Rich's parents retired just months before the outbreak and moved back to their original hometown in the U.S., but Rich decided to stay back because "Texas doesn't have hills like these."
