The start or end of The Last Saber, a retired hit-man who now looks for a new life. A quiet life. As a young man Duncan didn't have any ambitions, from a small town in the country and a small family, the Kesla. Duncan ran into the bad crew. An organised group called The Company. That is all Duncan ever knew, he took his assignment drops, did his recon and completed his task. after long his had exceptional skills, surprisingly as he had only been with The Company for a few years. Duncan was always a quick learner, just never in the right areas. After long he acquired his alias, no longer Duncan Kesla, the family name pushed aside. He was know only known as The Black Kaiser, mostly because of his urge to wear back and remain unseen in the shadows. Duncan always followed 'the code' he didn't want to get entangled in the common rivalries by other hit-men. While playing by the rules. the hit-man rules, his previous, lets say employer, soon doesn't like his extensive wealth of knowledge about 'The Company' and his upcoming of retirement with a wealth of money acquired from his list of extensive assignments was not about to go down well.
The final assignment, the assassination of a local official in Chernarus. The objective, keep it clean, no mess, just like always, yet right in front of their eyes. The official will simply have passed by natural causes Only this time his plan is disrupted before it even begins. The journey to Chenarus was rough, smuggled in on a cargo vesdel in to the Elektrozavodsk. The motion sickness was rampant, even with the crew. Under the cover of nightfall he was escorted of the cargo vessel in some workers old clothes, blending in in plain sight. getting in was one of the hardest parts, getting out would be harder. now he had to deal with the Target. The Last Saber made it past boarder security undetected and posted up in his small cabin just outside of the small city commonly know by the locals as Cherno. But with two days left before the hit, all the officials seem to go dark and simply dispensary from the city. News over the next few days revealed nothing other than a health issue 10km from the border and daily local affairs.
The day of the hit, Duncan heads out to his overlook post ready for the job, not a particularly noisy morning, but more than usual. The bustling city over the crest of the hill. Further up the hill and getting closer to his post the sound of sirens becomes overwhelmingly present. He takes a look through his service hit man binoculars, the chaos he see freezes him in his tracks. An unusual thing to happen to the The Last Saber. A groan comes from the bushes. This was so unusual around Duncan cabin he turn instantly weapon drawn, a man appears, running towards him, Duncan notices the strange man is armed and incapacitates the man. He continues to crawl towards him even after being shot in both legs. Duncan pins the man chest down with his heavy boot and searches the mans bag. Pictures, more pictures, why did this man have pictures of The Last Saber, and why was he wearing The Company's ring. A hit man, sent after him, but didnt use his gun. Strange for trained company hit-men. The Last Saber rushes for the border, only its closed, a viral outbreak of some sort, rampant murders and civilian killings, quarantines galore. The military now swarming the area. He had to dispensary quickly before he was quarantined and found with his multiple identities and his weapons, since his would for sure be imprisoned if quarantined and searched by the army. Now with one plan, The Last Saber takes his knowledge, and his original passport. It was time to vanish. The Last Saber fades into the past and unknown, know just as Duncan Kesla. Left with one option, to hide and wait until it blows over.
Moving from small village to small town and the occasional temping city, The Last Saber destroys all traces of himself, his secret passports, his safe house cabin, but nothing was going to blow over this hell-scape now. The Black Kaiser was still his usual self, avoiding unnecessary trouble and no trace of his movements. Every day after gathering supplies, The Last Saber tuned in on his radio, for any signs of contact, where The Company still out there, was this planned all along, maybe his target was still alive. Neski, the financial minister of Chernarus Natural Oil and Gas Co. The Last Saber never left a job unfinished. A lot had happened since the outbreak, he visited local libraries in Chernarus reading books and learning the trade of the land, to farm and rebuild without a trace. The Last Saber could only do this for so long, he already had multiple close calls with groups in the area, but managed to go no contact for the best part of 6 months. His mind was beginning to lose its edge, the absence of his work was straining. He had to make contact with one of the groups soon, for his own sanity. He want about to be betrayed again, not after what The Company tried to pull on his last job. After another 365 days of radio surveillance. patrol plans and reconnaissance. He new the paths of most groups, all was left was to break no contact and re surface. It was time. He had heard a few small crackles of town names, over the past month, with increasing activity. Sobor, Green Mountain. His course was set He couldn't let the job go though, its all he had. He made an entry into his Company recorder log one last time, not that it meant much anymore.
Leaving behind The Last Saber wasn't easy, it was his respect and credit, but Duncan was never the man to let his ego control his actions.
"Day 613, I've remained hidden for long enough, its time to show myself, the job must be finished. I cant be know as The Last Saber anymore, its to well known to risk being recognized in these parts. Duncan Kesla is who I am now. Almost nobody...Almost"
