His name was Christian. Born into a poor family his life was full of hard ships. Chris never gave up on the dream of living a happy life though. He was always up to something whether it be school or work. After meeting a woman at a Super Market when he was 18 the two quickly fell in love.He decided from the day he took her out for the first time he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. After years of dating and Chris finally moving up in the corporate ladder and becoming a store manager. He was making a good wage and felt like his job was relatively stable. He proposed 2 weeks after his promotion and she said yes. The wedding was a modest one, but a memory he would remember for eternity. He decided for his honeymoon he would take a cruise ship call the Costa Risacca. Chris did not know much about cruises but he knew that it was expensive and it was something everyone always remembered and talked once they had been on one. The day of the flight to Turkey(the place where the Costa Risacca would be departing from.) Chris felt worried about whether this was a good choice of time and money, but his wife assured him that they will have a good time and to not worry.
He decided to push the thought out of his mind and go for it. The ride was fun, lots of drinks and good food. The whether was a little humid but they didn't mind. 2 days before the ship was supposed to land back at turkey a brutal storm hit. Catapulting the ship off course. The Captain informed everyone before the storm that everything would be ok and to stay inside their rooms. If only he knew how wrong he was. The ships was crashing heavily through the green sea. Everything turned to hell once the boat started to take on water. They never learned the reason why but all they can remember is the captain final words to "Get to the life boats". He pushed and shoved his way through the crowd trying to find his way to the life boats Chris managed to get to the front of the line and help his wife on board the raft. The crew member soon let loose the raft and they hit the water with a audible thud. The storm was still hell, the raft was thrashed about and the two newly wedded couple had fears they were not going to make it. Soon though they met their demons. The raft flipped throwing Chris, his wife and the other fellow passengers off. He swam valiantly through the storm hoping to make it back to the raft and he did. No one else was on it though. Regardless he held on to the raft for dear life. Praying to god that he would survive this onslaught. His prays broke through those stormy clouds. He felt another thud and saw that he was ashore. He felt like he held on for days. Christ trudged to the shore line and passed out. When he awoke it was bright and clear not a cloud in the sky. He was full of grief and confusion as to where and what happened to him. He missed his wife who was now presumably lost to the sea. He hated being wet and aching. Christian was confused. He knew only one thing. He wanted to bury and make a grave for his wife. He had lost everything and was stranded but he wanted to give the one he loved most a final and deserved send off. After all no one else could of survived that right? He also wanted to make graves to all those crew members who probably lost their lives trying to help the people on board. Everyone deserves their last rites. Chris didn't know how many he should dig, he just knew he needed to get it done. He looked toward the forest near the coast. Seeing a road with abandoned cargo ship from who knows how long ago. He moves forward wet, tired and hungry. Looking for food and water should be his first priority.
